Code of Conduct

It is the programs intent to make the experience of Destination Imagination a positive, safe and fun experience for all. Our host sites include team manager homes, meeting rooms at community locations (such as churches and schools) tournament sites and locations of Bedford DI sponsored events (including local businesses). Bedford MADI members are expected to respect host’s property, grounds and agree to obey their rules of conduct (such as keeping control of noise levels, no rough play / running, harsh or inappropriate language, working safely, etc). While using MADI (Massachusetts DI) event sites members must endeavor to leave the event sites in the same condition as before their use.

It is not allowed to film or record in any way the presentations or solutions of Bedford MADI teams without expressed permission by the Team Manager. It may be deemed as ”interference” if Team Manager, Parent or other person presents content from another team solution in the same year to any of their team members.

Team members, managers, parents, relatives, siblings and friends that attend MADI tournaments are expected to adhere to MADI code of conduct. More details are available at www.madikids.org

Participants and parents of participants that take part in MADI regional or state tournaments are required to sign the MADI Parent/Team Code of Conduct Form in order to be eligible for participation in tournaments.

IMPORTANT: MADI’s reserves the right to disqualify or sanction teams with participants or relative of participants violate the MADI code of conduct.

Volunteers and parents of participants are expected to adhere to same code of conduct during Bedford MADI events.

4 Discipline

Bedford MADI town coordinator (or another Bedford MADI board member) will endeavor to resolve any conflicts prior to any disciplinary actions.

Team sanctions are possible for MADI code of conduct violations (defined by MADI) More details are available at www.madikids.org

Participants are subject to the disciplinary policy of the Bedford Public Schools during any Bedford MADI event held on Bedford Public School property

Participants that violate Bedford MADI code of conduct may be subject to temporary suspension or dismissal.

Appeals can be submitted to Bedford MADI board of directors in writing no longer than 30 days from a disciplinary action. The board will review appeals and rule in 10 days or less.

Bedford MADI Board decisions are final

We cannont stress enough that team sanctions are possible for MADI code of conduct violations. Massachusetts DI (MADI) is unforgiving especially in cases of distruction of property, team interference and inapproprate behavior. 5 Communications policy

The intent of the policy is to insure accurate, relevant and balanced communication of significant Bedford DI events. Significant Bedford DI events shall be released to press by formal press release. Significant events include tournament performances, major fund raising and major recruitment events etc.

This policy is to be maintained by publicly manager changes are to be agreed by governing board.
