What is Destination Imagination?

Destination ImagiNation is an educational activity in which student teams solve open-ended Challenges and present their solutions at Tournaments. Destination ImagiNation is the world’s largest creativity and problem-solving organization.

DI is available across the US and in more than 30 countries. It fosters “out of the box” thinking and risk taking to develop creative solutions. Great minds don’t necessarily think alike and often march to different drummers. They will learn to respect each others strong points.

Solutions often create more “challenges” to solve in the process!

Destination ImagiNation, Inc. believes in promoting three life-long values: Creativity, Teamwork, and Problem Solving.

Students who solve DI Challenges will:

Improve creative and critical thinking skills.
Discover and develop leadership qualities.
Build life-long friendships.
Discover that learning can be fun.
Build skills that employers and colleges need are looking for.

Bedford DI Program

Kindergarteners to university-level students can participate.
Students participate in 2- to 7-person teams.
Teams are comprised of Participants (students), Team Managers and Team Volunteer Appraiser
Teams compete in any of 7 Team Challenges.
A Destination ImagiNation Challenge is an open-ended exercise that prompts participants to use creativity and teamwork to solve a problem.
Team Challenge Types: Technical, Scientific, Fine Arts, Improvisational, Structural, service-learning, and Rising Stars! for early learners.
New participants register with Bedford MADI and are assigned to a team with assistance of Team Manager(s) and Program Director
Bedford MADI will register the teams and its members with Destination ImagiNation and for the MADI Region 4 tournament.

Teams are eligible to participate in all Bedford MADI sponsored events and are able to enjoy the program benefits
